At the end of the final race when Jake loses control of his car, just as it switches to the view from the front before the car launches into the air, you can see that Jake's 2011 Mustang GT has turned into a 2005-2009 V6 Mustang with the same body treatments. The whole thing couldn't be more of a cliché if it tried.
You have the rebellious teenager who doesn't like his step dad, truants school and who can't control his anger getting kicked out by his mother who's at wits end to go live with his distant and coincidentally alcoholic father who has a troubled past due to racing.
Having seen the pilot I purchased the Season 1 DVD and have seen most of the episodes. This is a simple basic comedy with some extreme characters some of which are funny and some not so, some endearing and others much less so.
