In honor of their anniversary, the Dearmans, their daughters, spouses and grandchildren went on an eight-day trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. Allen and Shirley Sparks Carter celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary June 28, 2017. The Carters have one son, Randy Carter, and five grandchildren, Angela, Laura, Molly, Caitlyn and Cole Carter. Dick and Eutha Hix will celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary on April 15, 2017.
Joining them for the week were their grandchildren and great-grandchildren including grandson Kody Foster, and wife, Brittany, and son, Noah; granddaughter Kourtni Faw and husband, Jeremiah, and sons, Brayden and Braxton; and granddaughter, Katelyn Foster, a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her friends, Ashley and Mary.
While there, the Fosters and their family visited Dollywood and other attractions.
On May 2, 1966, the couple eloped and were married in Ashe County. Allen and Shirley Carter of Ronda celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary June 28, 2016. The Carters were high school sweethearts at Ronda High School. Carter retired from the North Carolina State Probation/Parole Department and Mrs. Russell Barnes celebrated their “Diamond” (60th) anniversary and renewed their marriage vows in the presence of family members and friends.
Arthur Gerald Lankford and Linda Gay Hall Lankford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 9, 2016. They were married in Elkin by their pastor, the Rev. Carter retired from Lowe’s Companies Inc., with 32 years of employment as a secretary. The celebration took place in Clemmons, at a sunset garden party.
They also have eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hosts were the couple’s three daughters and their spouses.
Joe and Alice Clonch of North Wilkesboro celebrated 51 years of marriage on Saturday, Jan. Their children are Shelly (Bob) Faw Benfield of Hickory, Alisa (Christopher) Faw Dawson of Apex and Kristina (Monroe) Faw Hawkins of Hays.The couple has three daughters, Kimberly Dearman-Wilcox and spouse Shaun, Tami Dearman Newton and spouse Steve, Kandi Dearman-West and spouse Chris.They also have three grandchildren, Cameron David Newton, Joseph Stephen Newton, and Kassidy Caroline Newton. Reed of Moravian Falls celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary recently at a family outing given by their children, Christine Reed, Judy and Dave Walker and Karen and Fred Brason II, as well as 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The couple’s daughter, Katelyn Blackburn, served as the photographer. The couple, also known as “Pinky and Yvee,” have five children, Rickey (Maureen) Thomas, Doretha (Kerry) Anthony of Clemmons, Dennis Christopher Thomas of Winston-Salem, Anna Anita (Jimmy) Huff of Bowie, Md. They also have 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.A three-tiered cake with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla layers was served for dessert. They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Paul Michael and Shirley Day Wells celebrated 50 years together on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at noon, at the Meeting Place in Elkin. Wells were married July 30, 1966, in Caldwell County, by the Rev. They are members of Journey of Grace Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. Jordan were among the guests attending the anniversary celebration. Sebastian is the daughter of the late William Basil and Ennice Alexander Edwards. Sebastian is the son of the late Percy Everette and Hattie Cook Sebastian. Thomas, from Kansas, were on active duty in the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, when they met and began dating in the summer of 1965. They were married in Basel, Switzerland on June 7, 1965 (civil ceremony) and on June 25, 1966 (religious ceremony) in the hospital chapel. Shepherd was presented a corsage of white roses while the Rev. James Hayes Walker and Pauline (Polly) Pipes Walker of Charlotte celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2016.
